About Us
The Department of Defense Education Activity
The Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) is a field activity of the Office of the Secretary of Defense. DoDEA's mission is to plan, direct, coordinate, and manage the education programs for eligible dependents of U.S. military personnel and civilian personnel of the Department of Defense. DoDEA provides an exemplary education that inspires and prepares all students for success in a dynamic, global environment. DoDEA schools provide students with a uniform curriculum and standards that mitigate the stress of frequent moves and a parent's deployment. The Department of Defense also provides resources to non-DoDEA schools to help them deal with the challenges faced by military dependents.
The DoDEA Educational Partnership Program
The DoDEA Educational Partnership Branch is dedicated to every military child's right to a quality education regardless of their location or how often their family moves. DoDEA has more than 60 years of experience supporting military students around the world. Today force structure changes have created an urgent and ongoing need to enrich and expand partnerships with military-connected communities throughout the nation. Through the Educational Partnership, DoDEA is committed to ensuring that the thousands of students being relocated throughout the nation because of these actions receive the best possible educational opportunities.
The Evaluation Technical Assistance Center
DoDEA has contracted Synergy Enterprises, Inc. (SEI) to provide the DoDEA Partnership Grant Program with technical assistance in grant monitoring and program evaluation. Based on this contract, SEI created the Evaluation Technical Assistance Center (ETAC), a technical assistance resource center dedicated to building DoDEA grantees’ evaluation capacity.
